⚫️🔵⚫️ On June 1st, 2021, we will support the USAF Security Police on the US Airbase Spangdahlem in helping their the festivities and events for the „NATIONAL POLICE WEEK 2021“ in honor of all fallen and in support of all active and retired Law Enforcement Officers! They all have deserved more RESPECT and SUPPORT in protecting their community/ies!
With this invitation, we again feel very honored and look forward to the ongoing cooperation with great joy and excitement – and with a very little pride in our volunteer work since 2016, which thus finds another, weighty positive confirmation. The #TributeCopCar is again „home“ on US territory in mission-use.
In memory of all law enforcement personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice – and to support the active and retired LEOs!
The 52nd Security Forces Squadron organized events for National Police Week; was held on May 8-15, 2021 – but this „Police Display“ is now postphoned from May 11th and instead scheduled for June 1st, due to corona-pandemy related restrictions.
The week around the 15th of each May serves as an annual commemorative period to honor fallen military, domestic and international police officers and agents.
National Police Week is about remembering our law enforcement officers, it brings awareness to the base about the individuals that have fallen in the line of duty in service to the people and the country – we commemorate that and thank them.
The event serves as a fundraiser that sends a portion of its proceeds to a charity dedicated to supporting police officers and their families back in the United States.
The week closes with a retreat ceremony that pays tribute to fallen law enforcement officers.
On these days we are reminded that the security police badge is in the shape of a shield not to protect our lives, but to shield the rights and freedoms of those around us.
In the law enforcement world, there is a term, known as the thin blue line; a line of protection that extends beyond the police world and into the Air Force rank and file; a blue line that is made up from all of our defenders here this week.
